Processing of the grapes – and the entire vinification process up to bottling – took place
at the winery in Maienfeld. After picking, the fruit was transported back to Maienfeld
within a few hours. Fermentation in oat vessels with around 25% whole clusters, followed by maturation for 12 months in 228-litre French oak barrels.
The Pinot Noir Graf is showing beautiful fruit-driven power, a very appealing interplay of aromas as well as customary elegance on the palate. This wine is already very approachable, but has great potential.
This is a single-varietal Pinot Noir sourced from three small plots within the 'Eich' and 'Röti' vineyards in Maisprach in Basel-Land. Heini and Barbara Graf farm these vineyards, ensuring that the fruit that they harvest is of impeccable quality. Their 30- to 50-year-old vines grow on a steep south-facing slope situated between 380 and 450 metres above sea level.
