Hand-picked and hand-selected grapes underwent a cold maceration ('cold soak') followed by a cool fermentation that lasted about eight days. The fledgling wine was then left on the grape skins for several days before being gently pressed. Large used oak barrels were used for maturation, with a portion of the wine also spending time in stainless steel.
Ruby colour. Fruit-driven nose of assorted berries complemented by violet and a subtle lick of oak. This Pinot Noir is harmonious on the palate, showing fine, juicy tannins and a pleasant fresh, fruity finish.
From Fläscher Feld – a south-south-west-facing slope with a 10-to-20-degree incline as well as limestone- and humus-rich soils.
