Indigenous yeasts were mainly responsible for fermenting this Blauburgunder (Pinot Noir). Maturation for 10 months in 400-litre casks and used oak barrels.
Fresh nose of forest fruit, cherry and plum, with a spicy note as well as a hint of leather. Juicy and fresh on the palate, with finely coated tannins and a long finish.
Since 2002, Michael Broger has been growing wine from the 2.5 hectares of vines that he owns and leases above the hamlet of Boltshausen. To preserve his vineyard soils, he works these steep slopes by hand and via the use of manually operated caterpillar-track machinery. Broger is fully committed to the principles of biodynamic viticulture.
