Temperature-controlled fermentation (28°C maximum) on the skins for 15 to 20 days, followed by traditional maturation for two years in French 30-hectolitre oak vessels. No filtering. Bottle ageing at optimum cellar conditions.
Garnet colour. Complex nose of dark cherry, plum, violet, spice and herbs. Dense and intense on the palate, with ripe tannins and balanced acidity promising tremendous ageing potential. The finish is exceptionally long, with rose petal, pepper and forest fruit.
Villero is the most historically significant single vineyard in Castiglione Falletto, because it was the first of its kind in the entire Langhe area ever to be made into single-vineyard bottling (Vietti was the producer). The Brovia parcel was planted at the beginning of the 1960s and comprises 1.5 hectares of limestone, sand and loam. Wines from this vineyard combine wonderful elegance with masculine power.
