Temperature-controlled fermentation (28°C maximum) on the skins for 15 to 20 days, followed by traditional maturation for two years in French 30-hectolitre oak vessels. No filtering. Bottle ageing at optimum cellar conditions.
Ruby colour. On the nose, this Barolo shows seductive notes of plum, cherry and dark forest fruit, underscored by forest floor, nutmeg, pepper and herbal characters. The palate has lots of grip as well as ripe tannins and juicy acidity. Cherry and mountain herbs on a very long finish.
Ca'Mia is an eight-hectare monopole within the Brea vineyard, which is situated 350 metres above sea level in the municipality of Serralunga d'Alba. The parcel was planted in the mid-1950s and has a south-south-easterly aspect, with soils consisting of loam and limestone. Barolos from Serralunga are known for their power and immense complexity.
