Impeccable fruit thanks to a selective harvest involving several passes through the vineyard. Gentle pressing followed by natural sedimentation for 24 hours to clarify the juice. Raised in stainless steel, large oak and concrete egg vessels. The respective components remained on the fine lees until blending and bottling in April.
Notes of green apple, pear, quince and citrus dominate the nose, with smoky minerality providing a subtle accompaniment. The palate is dry, showing beautifully integrated, juicy acidity. Long on the finish, with stone fruit and a slightly saline minerality.
Ziegler has extremely varied soil – ranging from loam and loamy sand, to gravel, sandy clay, and weathered limestone.
