Hand-picked and hand-selected grapes. Gentle pressing followed by wild-yeast fermentation in large 2,000-, 4,000- and 6,000-litre oak vessels. Maturation for six to seven months in stainless steel, with extended ageing on the fine lees to lend added complexity and creaminess. No fining.
Medium lemon. Aromatic on the nose, with exotic fruit, citrus and slate minerality. Beautiful tension and depth on the palate, culminating in a juicy finish. A very popular Riesling.
Small grapes from partially ungrafted vines that were planted up to 120 years ago on steep slate slopes containing elements of rhyolite and quartz porphyry.
