The product of natural, hand-crafted winemaking. Open-top fermentation on the skins followed by maturation for 12 to 20 months in Burgundian 228-litre oak barrels, resulting in natural clarification of the wine. No filtering before bottling.
This red wine is irresistible on the nose, showing floral notes, warm spice and sweet red fruit. Concentrated palate with velvety tannins and remarkable intensity, tension and finesse.
The sharp incline and dry-stone walls below the Clingenburg castle ruins contribute to an exceptionally warm microclimate. The Fürst family have to do everything by hand in their 1.3-hectare parcel, as these terraced vineyards are too steep for motorised equipment. Weathered red sandstone soils ensure perfect growing conditions.
