The wine spent 17 months in stainless steel without racking or any sulphur additions. It finally received the bare minimum of sulphur before being bottled without filtration or fining.
Intriguing nose of apple and cider, ripe pear, yeast and preserved lemon. Dry, firm and streamlined on the palate, with ripe fruit and a complex, persistent finish. Please decant and give the wine time to open up.
Lieu-dit La Perlée consists of the classic white tuffeau soils beloved of Saumur. The vines are between 60 and 90 years of age.
