Hand-picked and hand-selected grapes. Gentle pressing followed by fermentation, malolactic fermentation and maturation in large oak barrels. Blending after almost one year, with a further eigth months of maturation in concrete cask before bottling.
Ripe fruit aromas and a smoky vanilla note on the nose. Powerful and minerally with great aromatic expression on the palate. Outstanding balance, well-integrated acidity and excellent ageing potential.
Made from fruit sourced from the best vineyards in the municipality of Appiano, 450 to 550 metres above sea level. The vines – aged between 10 and 32 years – grow on exposed south-east- and south-west-facing slopes consisting of sandy limestone gravel.
