Hand-picked and hand-selected grapes. Fermentation followed by gentle pressing. Subsequent maturation for 22 months in brand-new French oak barrels.
Massive concentration on the nose, with crème de cassis, coffee beans, Asian spice, and graphite. Perfect balance and wonderful texture on the palate. This wine has tremendous potential thanks to the sum of all its parts.
The fruit for this wine was sourced from the Champoux, Palengat and Wallula Gap vineyards. Champoux, situated at an elevation of between 600 and 800 metres, is one of the oldest vineyards in Washington State. Palengat has an extremely varied range of soils and was planted between 1999 and 2002. It belongs to the Horse Heaven Hills AVA. Wallula Gap is one of Washington State's warmest vineyards and has soils predominantly consisting of loam and basalt.
