Manual harvest. A portion of the stems (15%) were included in the fermentation in stainless steel. The wine then matured for 14 months in barrique and barrels of 500 liters.
Ruby colour. Fruit-driven on the nose, with black cherry, raspberry, plum, currants and delicately spicy hints of coffee, chocolate and pepper. The palate shows nice concentration without veering into opulence. The tannins are still noticeable, but they are soft and will integrate beautifully in the years ahead. Persistent and fruit-inflected on the finish.
The Tempranillo part of the blend was sourced from old vineyards in Fonzaleche, Salinillas and Sajazarra, while the Grenache comes from Cárdenas.
