The grapes for this wine tend to ripen very late. Fermentation in new and used oak barrels for around two months. Ten-month maturation on the gross lees – a process that lends finesse and preserves the wine's delicate fruit aromas.
Ripe apricots with a hint of spice on the nose, complemented by slightly toasted note. Exotic fruits dominate on the palate, combining with mild acidity, a powerful structure and beautiful minerality to lend the wine its unique personality. The finish is very elegant and long.
Sourced from 20-year-old Viognier vines that grow in a classic 2.5-hectare clos at an altitude of 550 metres in the municipality of Maienfeld. This vineyard site is bordered by a stone wall on three sides and has granite-rich soil.
