Hand-picking and stringent grape selection delivered immaculate fruit (100% whole-bunch pressing) for the 2022 Berg Rottland. Fermentation and maturation on the fine lees in large oak casks.
Apricot, lemon, flint, ripe apple and hints of exotic fruit on the nose. Electrifying on the palate with extreme mineral grip. This crisp, salty, streamlined Riesling is long on the finish, showing notes of stone fruit and wet stone.
Berg Rottland is a steep south-facing slope situated on the western edge of Rüdesheim. The vines are around 40 years of age and the soil consists of grey-blue slate with a humus-rich topsoil of loess. This vineyard's warmer, Rhine-influenced microclimate is conducive to early ripening.
