Selective manual harvest from early to mid-September. Fermentation mainly in a stainless steel tank (80%) as well as in a large oak cask (20%), with subsequent malolactic fermentation. The two wines are blended in March.
Pale lemon colour with a slightly greenish hue. Nose of ripe pear and honeydew melon. Creamy and rounded on the palate, with a noble structure and extreme elegance. The loamy limestone-gravel terroir has resulted in wine with beautiful balance and fine, crisp acidity. This is a delicious Pinot Grigio.
The grapes come from various vineyards situated near the centre of San Michele at elevations of between 400 and 550 metres. These sites enjoy a southerly to south-easterly aspect on soils consisting on limestone gravel and moraine debris. The vines are 10 to 30 years old.
