Manual work is the foundation of everything that happens in the vineyard and at the winery. The vines are tended and the fruit is picked by hand. Foot-treading is the preferred crush method, while the grapes are manually destemmed through a grating. The entire vinification and maturation process takes place in cement tanks that are glazed on the inside.
Pale ruby. Seductive nose of wild raspberry, pepper, and plum, complemented by a slightly reductive, animally note. Lovely mild tannins on the palate. Succulent and perfectly balanced, with balsamic notes and a long-lasting finish.
Sourced from two different vineyards in and around Torano Nuovo – a village with 1,500 inhabitants, situated between the Gran Sasso massif and the Adriatic Sea. Mainly trained using a pergola system known as 'tendone' in central Italy, the vines are influenced less by the soil (clay) and more by the dual effect of warming air that flows down from the mountains and in from the sea – a climatic factor also reflected in the wine itself.
