Three leading winemakers from Tuscany have joined forces with aim of unleashing the wonderful terroir of Riparbella. Each of them have assigned themselves a specific grape variety (Duemani: Cabernet Franc; Caiarossa: Cabernet Sauvignon; Tenuta Prima Pietra: Merlot), vinifying their fruit separately to preserve terroir expression and individual varietal characteristics. Following a 20-day maceration in amphorae, the three wines spent 14 months in first- and second-use French oak barrels before being blended together. Only 700 bottles produced.
Intense nose of dark berries, plum, cherry and fresh Mediterranean herbs. Concentrated on the palate, with tremendous freshness and tension. Gorgeous density of flavours. Lasts long in the mouth.
Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines on iron-rich volcanic soil; Cabernet Franc vines on sodium-rich calcareous loam.
