Manual harvest in September 2019. Hand-sorting of fruit both before and after destemming (20% whole bunches). Natural fermentation (no addition of yeast) for 29 days in temperature-controlled open-top fermenters. Subsequent maturation for 30 months in oak vessels, with a further 22 months of ageing in bottle.
Intense and vibrant ruby red hue. This Brunello has a delightful nose of fresh red fruit (lingonberry, cherry and plum), followed by hints of blood orange. It has soft, velvety tannins on the palate. The acidity of the 2019 vintage is perfectly balanced, delivering impeccable structure, while a deep, long finish bodes extremely well for the future.
This superb red wine was first produced in 2018 to mark 50 years of the estate, and is named after founder Giovanni Neri
At the end of 2017, Casanova di Neri completed the purchase of seven hectares of vineyard in a prime location in the south-east of Montalcino. This south-facing site sits on marl soils with tufa and clay at an elevation of 390 metres. The vines were planted over 50 years ago.
