Manual harvest. After an initial sorting in the vineyard, the grapes were sorted a second time on arrival at the winery. Maturation for 20 months in large Slavonian oak casks and 36 months of ageing in bottle.
This is the estate's first-ever Gran Selezione bottling. Deep ruby in appearance, with forest fruit, violet, Amarena cherry, spicy tobacco, vanilla and a hint of forest floor on the nose. The palate is exceptionally elegant, with fine tannins and a long finish characterised by forest fruit. This wine will continue to develop over the next 15 years.
From vines that grow on the estate's most prized soils: limestone clays of marine origin, rich in galestro rosso schist. Facing south and south-west, these vineyards benefit from cooling breezes.
