Hand-picked and hand-selected grapes. Further triage at the winery followed by gentle crushing. Maceration (skin contact) for at least 30 days, with regular punch-downs of the cap. Malolactic fermentation and subsequent maturation in French oak barrels (70% new, 30% used).
Deep ruby. Smooth and full-bodied with great finesse on the palate. Elegant structure, lovely interplay between fruit and acidity, with finely integrated tannins.
Ried Alte Geringen overlooks the 'Kellergasse' (lane with wine cellars) in Ketzeldorf and has calcareous loess soils that provide ideal growing conditions for the Zweigelt vines that were planted there at the end of the 1950s.
