Then gentle pressing in a pneumatic press, with transfer to stainless steel (where the wine underwent malolactic fermentation). Maturation for 18 months in new and used French oak barrels as well as a further 9 months' ageing in bottle before release.
Multilayered on the nose, with fresh and dried berries, ripe cherry, spice, and fine notes of oak. Complex, concentrated and very succulent on the palate, with harmonious tannins. Fine, spicy chocolate, vanilla and tobacco characters complement the intense fruit flavours, leading to a long finish.
Sourced from vines sitting 1,250 metres above sea level on soils mainly composed of pure Limestone with a gravely and sandy topsoil.
