Each of the grape varieties were fermented separately in concrete with wild yeast. The wine spent 12 months in new French Nevers oak barrels before resting for a further 12 months in concrete tanks. Chateau Musar wines are neither fined nor filtered. The property's reds are normally released after five to seven years. All its wines are vegan-certified.
The 2018 vintage has a deep garnet colour, offering aromas of dried cherry and mature red berries alongside Mediterranean herbs and spice and a touch of smoke. On the palate, this is a full-bodied red wine with good concentration, juicy acidity and fine, ripe tannins. The finish is persistent with cranberry, raisins and dates. This Chateau Musar is already drinking beautifully.
Sourced from vineyards in the southern region of the Bekaa Valley, situated north of Lake Qaraoun around the villages of Aammiq, Aana and Kefraya.
