Selective harvest, very gentle pressing. Maturation for around 18 to 20 months in first-use French oak barrels. (Younger sibling Tanbark Hill is matured in used oak barrels.)
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is a powerful wine of tremendous intensity, showing an array of ripe notes that lend an exceptionally exotic characteristic. The tannins need time to soften. Ripe red cherry and sweet tobacco add a unique touch.
Sourced at an altitude of almost 700 metres above sea level, from a vineyard planted in 1981 on the slopes of Spring Mountain just beyond the town of St. Helena. The soils are of volcanic origin.
