Hand-picked and hand-selected grapes. Cold maceration ('cold soak') followed by wild-yeast fermentation. Maturation for 23 months on the lees in first-use French oak barrels (Taransaud and Darnajou), with regular bâtonnage (lees stirring). Malolactic fermentation also occurred during this time. The wine was bottled unfiltered before being released for sale.
Deep ruby. Varied nose of ripe red and black berries, with blossom and smoky notes. Full-bodied on the palate, with polished tannins and pronounced sweet and savoury characters complementing an array of ripe fruits. A wonderfully complex wine promising great drinking pleasure over the next 20 years.
Made from Napa Valley appellation fruit sourced specifically from the Oakville (37%), Rutherford (34%) and Mount Veeder (29%) AVAs.
