Domaine Hubert Lamy

Domaine Hubert Lamy Olivier and Karin Lamy, Domaine Hubert Lamy

Of the various producers in Saint-Aubin, Domaine Hubert Lamy is the one that stands out. This gem of a property keeps thrilling us with its mineral-driven white Burgundies.

The Lamys have been farming vineyards in Saint-Aubin on the Côte de Beaune since 1640. However, it was not until 1973 that Hubert Lamy established the family estate, which back then comprised eight hectares under vine.

Foundations for the future

The estate expanded considerably in the 1990s. Hubert bought and rented various new plots, replanted vines in the Saint-Aubin premier cru En Remilly, and replaced many of his Pinot Noir vines with Chardonnay (particularly in Saint-Aubin La Princée and in the Saint-Aubin premier cru Derrière chez Edouard).

Fresh ideas

After finishing his studies and doing various winery internships at home and abroad, Hubert’s son Olivier Lamy joined the domaine and began implementing new ideas in relation to both viticulture and élevage. Olivier now manages the estate with his wife Karine, with 18.5 hectares of vineyard at his disposal (80% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir) in the Saint-Aubin, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet and Santenay appellations. He practises organic viticulture and produces around 110,000 bottles of wine every year.
