Hand-picked and hand-selected grapes. Fermentation for 19 days in a mash tank, followed by 18 months of maturation in new French oak barrels. No filtering.
Spicy red-berry nose. Precise, elegant and balanced on the palate, with fine tannins. Long, complex finish.
Rising directly up from the old town in Ahrweiler, Rosenthal is a south-facing vineyard with varied soils – ranging from greywacke on its eastern flank and cliff loam on its upper slopes, to loam along with loess loam and slate on its western flank.
