Hand-picked and hand-selected grapes. Fermentation on the skins in a traditional open-top oak fermenter. Gentle pressing followed by maturation for around 18 months in 228-litre Burgundian oak barrels. Then bottling.
Intense red berry nose showcasing the vineyard's wild, herbal character. Fruit-driven and brimming with tension on the palate, with mineral depth and good length.
The Fürst family own 11 hectares on this incline that rises up steeply in places above the town of Burgstädt. The southerly aspect, a unique microclimate, and soils consisting of loam-rich, weathered red sandstone provide excellent conditions for growing vines.
