The product of natural, hand-crafted winemaking. Open-top fermentation on the skins followed by maturation for 12 to 20 months in Burgundian 228-litre oak barrels, resulting in natural clarification of the wine. No filtering before bottling.
Very fine and fresh on the palate, with an abundance of red fruit as well as violet and pepper. A magnificent wine with silky tannins that come into their own on a long finish.
The sharp incline and dry-stone walls below the Clingenburg castle ruins contribute to an exceptionally warm microclimate. The Fürst family have to do everything by hand in their 1.3-hectare parcel, as these terraced vineyards are too steep for motorised equipment. Weathered red sandstone soils ensure perfect growing conditions.
