Classic Bordeaux-style skin contact for 30 days in conical stainless steel vessels – an extended temperature-controlled fermentation process that enabled full tannin extraction. Maturation for at least 16 months in new French oak barrels. An additional 12 months of bottle ageing before release.
Intense, deep ruby. Complex aromas of ripe sour cherry and spice on the nose. A balanced tannin structure and a lovely acidic backbone lend body, finesse and elegance on the palate. A powerful, exceptional Merlot.
This Riserva is made from selected fruit sourced in prime plots. The vines are at least 25 years old and grow 300 to 450 metres above sea level on the granite and porphyry soils that are a distinctive feature of the Arbostora district. This south-facing terroir benefits from the unique microclimate of Lake Lugano.
