Hand-picked from a single plot, with white grapes accounting for around 25% of this field blend. Destemming limited to 75% of the fruit. Wild-yeast fermentation in an open-top oak fermenter. Subsequent maturation for around 18 months in a single 400-litre used oak vessel.
Intense, pure nose with red berries, red cherry, herbal notes and Mediterranean spice. Juicy and fresh on the palate, with lots of red fruit, a dense body and a long, thrilling finish.
From a centenarian south-facing vineyard with sandstone soils in Fonzaleche. This is a field blend of white and red grapes harvested and vinified together.
