Ronco Scagnèt
This family winery builds on a tradition spanning generations – through white and red wines of varietal character that reflect the terroir and history of the Friuli region.
History and tradition have a special place at Roco Scagnèt, an estate that has always passed from father to son. The experiences of previous generations have taught the property’s current custodians to respect nature and understand what it can give back to them. Although they know that age-old methods are often still the best methods, they have also been investing a great deal of energy and resources into developing and perfecting their winemaking approach.
Native and international grape varieties
Ronco Scagnèt comprises 12 hectares of vineyard. In addition to native grapes like Ribolla Gialla, Friulano and Refosco, the estate also grows international varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Stringent selection of fruit in the vineyard and gentle pressing at the winery are a matter of course. The white wines are fermented off the skins to maintain freshness, whereas the reds are left to macerate for four to five days.
