Minière F&R
The Minière brothers produce rare champagnes of remarkable quality, complexity and character, born of base wines matured in oak barrels of varied capacity, origin and age.
Champagne Minière was founded in 1919 by Alfred Minière, who created his own wine press and sold his wines to the merchants of Reims.
A new generation – and a boost in quality
Brothers and fourth-generation winegrowers Frédéric and Rodolphe Minière have been running the business since 2005. Frédéric trained at renowned properties such as Jacques Selosse and puts this experience to good use in the cellar, while Rodolphe takes care of the estate’s eight hectares under vine. The brothers favour a respectful, sustainable approach to make the most of what nature offers them. They work the land organically, leaving grass between the rows in certain vineyard plots and eschewing chemical treatments to combat pests and disease. Frédéric and Rodolphe are committed to maintaining natural balance and biodiversity through this environmentally responsible approach.
Small-batch grower champagne
To say that the brothers focus on making only the highest-quality Champagne would be an understatement. Frédéric and Rodolphe purposefully limit their production to the best and oldest vines isolated from only two hectares. They mature their base wines exclusively in oak barrels and release vintage-specific cuvées only after years of sur lie ageing. On average, their champagnes age in bottle for six or more years.
“Nature as a backdrop, beauty as a horizon, excellence as a goal.”
