De Andrés Sisters Ruth de Andrés, De Andrés Sisters

The De Andrés sisters make wines from iconic grape varieties and a unique selection of terroirs around Spain – easy-drinking bottles that work in all manner of situations.

Sourcing fruit from other wineries

Ruth de Andrés works as a winemaker and consultant for various wineries in Spain. Despite not owning any vineyards, she produces her own wines under the ‘De Andrés Sisters’ label. This works by selecting fruit from the wineries that she advises, and then taking care of the rest, from vinification to bottling. Ruth relies on native regional varieties like Tempranillo, Monastrell and Verdejo to interpret her terroirs as faithfully as possible. Her sister Ana helps on the marketing side of the business. Single-varietal bottlings Alegra Crianza from Ribera del Duero (Tempranillo) and Bajel Pirata from Alicante (Monastrell) exemplify the sisters’ excellent work.
