Delouvin Nowack

Delouvin Nowack Geoffrey Delouvin, Delouvin Nowack

Geoffrey Delouvin manages this small estate in the Marne Valley, representing the 11th generation of his family to do so. He produces characterful grower champagnes that offer pure drinking pleasure at fair prices. Pinot Meunier is his flagship grape.

The unique champagnes of Delouvin Nowack are made exclusively from estate fruit grown on seven hectares of vineyard in the heart of the Marne Valley. These holdings encompass 36 different plots of mainly old vines on a diverse range of soils.

Motivated by Meunier

Pinot Meunier is the main motivation and focal point at this family property. Geoffrey Delouvin tends his vines meticulously to bring out the individual characteristics of each and every plot. Harnessing knowledge acquired over generations, he eschews the use of herbicides and pesticides in favour of greater biodiversity.

Traditional and Burgundian

Geoffrey produces two different ranges of champagne. ‘Delouvin Nowack’ are his conventional tradition champenoise wines: fresh, fruit-driven champagnes that have undergone primary fermentation in stainless steel. His ‘Famille Delouvin’ collection takes its inspiration from Burgundy: Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay from specially selected plots, wild-yeast fermentation, maturation of the base wine for nine months in oak barrels. All of the estate’s non-vintage champagnes are made using the solera method. They owe their consistent quality to a réserve perpetuelle (reserve wine) comprised of every vintage since 1992.

Geoffrey is the 11th generation of his family to run the estate. He won the ‘Jeunes Talents du Champagne’ award in the Pinot varietal category in 2018.

“To re-energise our wines while respecting the best of our family traditions, my ethos was simple: respect life and land, and great champagne will follow.”
