Character
A full-bodied, creamy Riesling with fruit, herbs and spice on the palate. Intense, powerful finish. This reserve bottling is less fruit-inflected and has immense structure and complexity. It still needs a lot of time to develop in bottle, but the wait will be worth it.
Winemaking
Grosses Gewächs quality – kept for at least 24 months on the gross lees in cask. Following this very long period of lees ageing, the wine was racked from the sediment and bottled unfiltered.
Terroir
Rothenpfad is south-south-east-facing with red slate. They generally pick the grapes here a little later compared to other GG vineyards, owing to a slightly cooler microclimate.
