Hand-picked and hand-selected grapes. Fermentation followed by gentle pressing. Subsequent maturation for 20 months in brand-new French oak barrels.
Deep ruby. This is a picture-perfect wine. Blackcurrant, graphite, dried herbs and loamy earth all contribute to a full flavour profile. Full-bodied, incredibly pure and perfectly balanced, without any hard edges. Deep and concentrated on the palate, with good acidity and an exceptional finish.
The fruit for this wine was sourced from the Champoux, Palengat and Wallula Gap vineyards. Champoux, situated at an elevation of between 600 and 800 metres, is one of the oldest vineyards in Washington State. Palengat has an extremely varied range of soils and was planted between 1999 and 2002. It belongs to the Horse Heaven Hills AVA. Wallula Gap is one of Washington State's warmest vineyards and has soils predominantly consisting of loam and basalt.
