100% wild-fermented, then matured primarily in new oak barrels for 15 months. Unfiltered botteling.
Deep ruby. Wild raspberries and dark fruits such as black cherry and blackcurrant on the nose along with tobacco and even some mocha and spice. Powerful, full-bodied, with tremendous structure and ripe tannins on the palate. Long finish with spice and minerality.
Sourced from the oldest plots in Ottoberg and Weinfelden. The vines were planted in 1970/71 and are low-yielding.
