Sherry & port
Although sherry comes from Spain and port from Portugal, these two fortified wines share a few things in common. In both cases, the production process involves adding neutral grape spirit to stop natural fermentation. This results in alcohol levels of around 15 to 22%. Sherry and port are matured for long periods, and some examples also age well in bottle.
