Character
Medium lemon. Pure, characterful Riesling aromas. Complex and delicious on the palate, packed with crystalline notes of ripe apricot as well as hints of orange, grapefruit and passion fruit. Ample volume, pronounced minerality, fine acidity, exceptional length, and youthful reticence are the hallmarks of this extremely classical, highly elegant Nahe Riesling. A wine of great potential, with a long future ahead of it.
Winemaking
Hand-picked and hand-selected grapes. Gentle pressing followed by wild-yeast fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel. Subsequent maturation on the fine lees, exclusively in large oak casks to lend additional complexity and richness.
Terroir
Facing south with gradients of up to 70 degrees, Halenberg makes its vines struggle in the summer for every last drop of water. The grapes in this vineyard consequently stay smaller. This is the secret behind the wine's particularly saline, minerally quality. Halenberg comprises 8.5 hectares and has stony blue slate and quartzite soils.
